Very special japanese limited edition of this "lost" funk masterpiece, complete with an exclusive bonus DJ Muro megamix,extending & blending manzel tracks unheard before today. But let's back up… ‘space funk’ and ‘midnight theme’, recorded in 1975 but not released until ‘78 ‘& ’79, are two of the funkiest and most collectable disco / funk breakbeats of all time, figuring heavily in hip hop's first wave of sample-based hits (eric b & rakim) and standing well on their own to this day, manzel were about 20 years ahead of their time, and their full album, though completed, never saw release...until now. It's the lost ark of the covenant for the rare groove acolytes, musicians larry van dyke, steve garner & manzel bush take their place as top jazz-funk musicians; tracks like ‘it's over now’, ‘evil, wicked, mean & nasty’, ‘the party’, ‘just for you’, and ‘long way home’ show their versatilty & soul. The original tapes have been unearthed, remastered and remixed by kenny dope and the undercover brother, making for an expensive but incredible artefact.
