Finders Keepers return after a couple of middling releases with the latest in their spectacular "Anatolian Invasion" series, and once again remind us why they're a force to be reckoned with in the world of weird and wonderful reissues. This incredible archival programme has already given us the magnificent Selda album, one of last years surprise hits and a record that simply never fails to elicit a euphoric, joyful and wondrous response from anyone we dare play it to. Ersen is another legendary psychedelic Turkish pop star, and much in the same vein as Selda he manages to combine the mystical other-worldliness of middle eastern instrumentation with stylistic ticks borrowed from 1970's experimentalism, heavy percussive breaks, mind-melting synth loops and a late night fuzz that's nothing short of spectacular. This is exactly the sort of thing you want from a reissue series, access to hitherto unknown music that speaks a different yet oddly familiar sonic language, gaining you access to an entirely new world of musical possibilities - and Ersen certainly gives you that. Already infamous with collectors and DJs such as Madlib, Oh No and their crew, this fabulous album falls into that small and perfectly formed category of records you need only play once in order to develop an obsession with - just be warned, play this music out in public at your peril, everyone you know will hound you for a copy! Massively enjoyable material - and a huge recommendation!
