Really quite brilliant twelve from Portable here, featuring remixes from Bodycode, Cassy and Lawrence. Bodycode's reworking spans the whole of the a-side and manages to re-structure the minimal rulebook with shocking dexterity - the track is an oblique, shimmering fusion of hollow vocals, metalic production and a clunky percussive line that oozes filth - this is just an out and out club killer. Cassy opens the flipside with another mesmerising exercise in repetition and subtle editing, true to her Perlon origins, while Lawrence finishes the set with another grand gesture - beautifully arranged strings and tinkling keys riding the 4/4 shuffle with characteristic aplomb. Our favourite Sud release to date - get on it.
