LIMP - Orion, Morr Music

Limp is the band-project of the multi-talented Jonas Munk, otherwise known as Manual (Morr Music / Hobby Industries). Together with three friends from Odense in Denmark, Jonas has managed to produce one of the loveliest albums in the blissed-out semi accoustic / post-rock genres you'll hear this year. 'Orion' sees a delicate blend between the band's influences that range from Chicago's post-rock sound to the electronic emissions that the Morr Music label has become known for to the industrial edge of vintage Factory Records releases. This is a deeply dreamy piece of work, the opening 'Towards' setting the scene with a hazy sunshine opening and a delicate accoustic development : live drums, washes of electronic manipulations underneath and a euphoric aroma. 'City Speaks Tonight' takes the sound of Manual and overdubs it with more layers of dreamy guitars and double bass, the result sounding like a meeting point between Slowdive, Boards of Canada and Godspeed. This is ethereal music in its simplest and most naïve sense, a feel-good record that could only have been constructed by a group of talented kids who have just entered their 20's..open, delicate and incredibly uplifting. Highly Recommended.
