We love Tigerbeat.... like that dirty kid at school who always had unusual looking stains on his white shirt, and used to do things that would admittedly make you laugh, but left you wondering how many bodies were going to be buried under his patio by the time he hit 30; Tigerbeat were just slightly psychopathic, and we liked that. Well as they get older it seems somewhere down the line the mischievous fellers discovered a secret stash of cocaine, and this latest compilation sounds rather like an advertisement for Columbia's biggest export. Like being stuck in Hoxton around people you'd rather like to see put through a mincer, this is posturing electro-kitsch, and although it's done with tongue firmly lodged in cheek, it's never quite odd enough to compensate for the sheer trendiness of it all. Maybe Tigerbeat just wanna lazertag these days though and maybe Tigabeat would be a more fitting name then? Groovy, baby.
