Punch Drunk provide further proof, if it were needed, as to why Guido is one of the most highly rated producers to emerge from the dubstep scene in the last few years. 'Beautiful Complication' is possibly one of the finest future R'n'B tracks to be produced in this country for years, finding the commonalities between auto-tuned US club blazers and swinging UK dubstep, much like his Bristol brethren Joker and Gemmy, but with a lazer defined touch of his own, condensing sheer bass weight with a shocking percussive clarity that just sounds achingly fresh. On the flip 'Chakra' shuffles slightly more towards a UK flavour with tuffer garage syncopated snares but the hypeR'n'Bass connection is maintained with another auto-tuned fembot vocal and radioactive synthline. With Chase & Status currently producing tracks for Rihanna's album, let's hope Guido is next on Jay-Z's wishlist! BIG!!!
