**Clear Lathe-Cut Vinyl** John Xela presents only his second solo release of 2009 with a gorgeous lathe cut clear vinyl 10" for Static Caravan / blackmaps (a new label out of Tokyo/London). 'Transit' was recorded in his hometown at the end of summer 2008 using a sequential Circuits Pro-One synthesizer, tapes and effects, to arguably create two of his finest tracks to date. Following previous limited transmissions for the Digitalis label and last years 'In Boca Al Lupo' album, this release sees him shift out of the droning, nightmarish miasmah of those records into a still droning, but more optimistic and astral ambience created with a distant gazing vision. Both tracks strongly remind of a less proggy Emeralds or the work of Steve Moore, only with a tempered sense of drama and more centred emotional core. Because technology has yet failed to provide us with a sensible way of listening to vinyl on the train, bus or car, we recommend you get these ripped onto your computer and save them for a special journey.
