Two of NYC's most dilated listeners, Matt Shadetek and DJ/Rupture, come together for a heavyweight mixtape following from their ace production job on the Jahdan Blakkamoore album. As always with a Rupture mix, it's all about the stylistic juxtapositions, febrile rhythm trickery and heavy dancehall roots, blending tracks from Telepathe to Paavoharju with an assortment of drum and bass concentrated killers. Representing the new school of dubstep Cardopusher, Stagga, Noah D and Matty G drop in, while the more esoteric transitions into the aforementioned Paavoharju, or Luc Ferrari and Nico Muhly deliver brave but well measured swerves out of the heavy grooves. Factor in some Gang Gang dance, Various Production and Caroline Bergvall and you've got a smartly head-tripping selection. Heavy.
