This tortoise-referencing single on Sonic Cathedral melds twee-pop loveliness with the kind of elaborate synth embellishments you used to find on Grandaddy records, and although the band aren't quite tight enough to earn the krautrock seal of approval, you can still very much hear that as being where they're coming from. The more dismantled, vibed-out sounds of flipside 'This Day' sound pretty decent too, finding the band in an early Goldfrapp-ish cinematic mode.
