BURNKANE - You Know, Planet Mu

Following in the footsteps of FaltyDL, Various Production and to an extent Floating Points, Burnkane is the latest addition to the Planet Mu roster to knead grime and dubstep with complex electronic functions. Both tracks are riddled with the seemingly inescapable post-Burial influence - from the clipped 2-step patterns to autotuned vox and gloomy atmospherics, but add American accented rap vox on 'You Will Forget' and moody post-rock or seasick doom elements on 'You Know', which coincidentally reminds us of that Confutatis track some years back. This should hit the spot for anyone who fell in love with the Blue Daisy record or fetishises the work of Mr. Bevan. Very good indeed.
