DUBLEE - Pseudo Harmonia, Mule Electronic

Well Dublee and their parent label Mule Electronic have grown to be something of a secret, if not so guilty pleasure for us over the last several months. Dublee was instrumental in leading the charge for this imprint worth watching - moving from intital compilation appearances for Progressive Form to fully fledged twelves and a brilliant album already for the label, "echo euphoria". Where "echo" was fully preoccupied with the open spaces, and delayed timeframes of the dub experience, the new album collates two eps and then some, looking further into electronic house, disco as well as the dub elements. At its best, on the grooving jazzy numbers, its a melodious affair, still rocking the big basslines, but with a more circumspect, less driving feel than its predecessor. Its predominantly monochrome, which allows for a very smooth listening experience, functioning in a well programmed, ergonomic fashion. The Farbenish groove and swing of "Flight 822" really stands out, as does the excellent Thomas Fehlmann remix of "Cliff" which closes up shop here, massive styles, on another decent album from this ever fine little label.
