'Exactly As I Am' is the third in McKenzie's series of collaborative works with Jonsi Birgisson from Icelandic superstars Sigur Ros. Those of you excited by this mention will probably already know that Jonsi is the warbling fellow who chants in 'Hopelandish' over the Ros's now classic back catalogue, and with this collaboration McKenzie has taken Birgisson's vocals and used them as the source material for his deep drones. I know, I know this idea sounds perfect - the marriage of spiritual other-worldy vocals with the Hafler Trio's unusual take on industrial drone, it could be incredible... but the vocals are almost inaudible as they have been processed so much, but if you fancy listening to two cds of continuous drone this just might be your thing.
