George Evelyn (aka Nightmares On Wax) has retreated firmly into the fug which first spawned his smoke-shrouded sound - eschewing Lunnpoly pop and returning to the trademark vibrations that served so well on 'Carboot Soul' and 'Smokers Delight'. Sounding so much like Nightmares On Wax you could recognise them from ten miles away, this piece of candy-red vinyl features album cuts 'The Sweetest' and 'Thaihi' - with the A indulging in some addictive bass excursions and mealy breaks, whilst on the back the paranoia sets in as the electronic bugs approach. Languid, smooth and with a teasingly elusive female vocal, 'The Sweetest' may be NoW by numbers - but when it sounds as beatific as this, we're willing to let it pass for seven inches.
