VOLKER DORNHAGEN - Polylux, Raum musik

Volker Dornhagen hails from Hamburg, germany, has released some music on Kompakt sublabel "Auftrieb" before, and if we recall correctly, also on Treibstoff. This is his first record for "Raum...musik" and he delivers three excellent pieces of minimal techno music. The tempo of all three tunes is paced more like house music, the mood is dark and heavy - the tracks are stripped right back down to the bone, and as such all three become highly functional dj tools. Flip to the b-side for our personal highlight - a Dub Kult remix by london's Neilon Pitamber, who shows us some more experimental licks to add to his growing rep, after big twelves from Raum itself and Traum Schallplatten. Further consistency from this excellent label.
