*Back In Stock* Ok firstly I want to admit I’ve been following little miss Uffie for a while now (not like that, stop, I’m not a stalker, please – don’t lock me up again!) after hearing a few of her tracks on Myspace (shudder) and I have become obsessed in a rather horrible way. Like the way you are obliged to watch when something terrible is happening, this has the same effect. The A Side entitled ‘Pop The Glock’ is a truly appaling slice of vocodered cheese, the sort of track that would pop up on Sesame Street when they want to show how down with the kids they are by being able to ‘rap’. Utter drivel, but sadly I can’t stop listening to it – am I sick? Please somebody help me. Thankfully I can shake myself off and get a modicum of cred back since the remix of this track really is a winner, with French dancefloor don Sebastian turning in a clipped future Vice-party classic. Flip the record over and what the hell is that – everyone’s favourite spannered techno producer Mr Oizo with a grinding winner. Insane but dancefriendly beats with the gorgeous 18 year old singing ‘I’m ready to f*ck’ over the top. Well I’m convinced… get me my raincoat mother, I’m going out for a while.
