Marcellus Pittman, longtime KDJ cohort and part of the mighty Three Chairs alongside Moodymann and Theo Parrish delivers this killer 4-tracker for Omar S, kicking off with "Nyrobi Knight" - classic Theo tempo pads shuffling the afro-rhythms with simple, classic one-note chord progressions that just ooze a midnight vibe. "Cherry Lee" introduces a filthy robotic vocoder to the mix, an alluring fusion of dense bass thumps and cylon chanting, killer styles!! "Dirty" on the flip is the nastiest cut here, determined sci-fi jacking music with sparse, inimitable strokes of darkness. Awesome.
