A supergroup of sorts, Nudge return with an excellent new album, this time round for the delectable Kranky. Made up of three artists more than well-versed in several types of music, Honey Owens is a member of Jackie-O Motherf*cker, Brian Foote and Paul Dickow have each played in Fontanelle, Foote and Dickow DJ, and Dickow performs and releases music as Strategy, as well as curator of his sooncome new imprint "Community Library" about which word is positively buzzing right now. Having already made a dent in the American College radio charts, "Cached" is a beautifully honed lo-fi affair that takes in shards of garage band mentality, Arthur Russel era Disco modifications, Melodica infused dub shockouts and even a dabble with leftfield skewed pop. It's quite easily the most potentially crossover savvy release on the label since the fabulous debut from Out Hud and will act as an eye opener to many mellowed-out heads looking for something beautifully constructed but angular and rockin in equal parts. We love this label - get checking without delay.
