Def Harmonic return to the label that birthed our fave Casino Versus Japan after recent work for the UK's Altered Vibe imprint. The press are lumping Def Harmonic in with the hype surrounding Sa-Ra and i'm sure this crew are happy to hang onto their clothed tails with all their mite. 'Spaced Out' adds a bit of Outkast and Prince to the stomping eighties beat and fonked bass and groove. 'The Deep' goes freestyle on the squelch beat keeping the same references stamped down but with a faster tempo and a sweet synth drop. 'Three Point Plan' is a eighties pre-rap revision with stoopid scratching and dope lyrics/rapping in a Digable Planets vibe. Finally an obvious Roger Trautman tribute track 'Zapp...What?' pays tribute to the master of vocoder pimp-funk even if it shares the melody hook with J.Timberlake. Fashionable it may be but I kinda like this 12". Check.
