Y'all know Liquid Liquid right?!? If only for the outrageous sample in Grandmaster Melle Mel's anticoke rap anthem 'White Lines' or via their wicked compilation/career overview that Mo' wax delivered many years ago. Anyhow now in the 05' band member Dennis Young goes it alone with a CD of new solo material of which one track makes it onto this 12". 'Caution Up Ahead' is a wicked no-wave punk funk anthem for the new kids on the block - chants, mad uptempo percussion fills like Arthur Russell on extra quality speed - tune. From back in te' daaaaayyyyy Liquid Liquid's original 'Flextone' is a super sweet funked trip, a little short in running time so that's where the flip comes in good use. Firstly Optimo's JD Twitch drop's a remix that's basically better described is a fatter/fuller re-edit with new drums and textures and the same goes for Brennan Green's version, only his fits snuggly into the fluffy Environ disco sock. Superior retro plundering from one of the originators. Check!
