The Meanwhile imprint deployed itself around the start of the year with a mighty debut twelve that sold out double fast, catching fire with its blend of classic detroit and berlin dub techno of the grand line - a sell out was literally a foregone conclusion. This new twelve has already been given a seal of approval by the godfather of everything's that's righteous about Detroit techno - Anthony "Shake" Shakir, something that may make it difficult for this lot to operate under the radar for very long. The standout here has got to be Bovill's mighty "Yd Blues", leaving behind it a midnight blue vapour trail, striding along a motor city groove that finds itself inspired by the slow motion heartbeat of Theo Parrish and the classic rave keys of the fabulous Mr Fingers, straight from the soul. Late night machine music just doesn't get much better than this - stone cold Killer.
