Sten aka Peter m. Kersten aka Lawrence has clearly sold his soul to the unholy trinity of chicago house, acid & detroit techno. Machines are a constant - this is the music that will never stop - Sten's coming on like the best end of Swayzak's 240 Volts imprint - and you know thats a good thing. Since his first 12 inch for Dial - "tv“ a couple years back - Kersten has consistently impressed with deep, solid, cultural electro-techno-house music, call it what you will . Finding a few tracks dropped on compilations by the likes of sven vath, tobias thomas, interspersed with twelves for Sender as well -Sten‘s deep grooves, sounds and intense arrangements express longing for that perfect moment at the club, when you can close your eyes and hide from the frantic, if but for a moment. The harmonies and arrangements here have something visual, narrative qualities already apparent for those of you who loved the 'Absence of Blight' album from sten‘s alter ego Lawrence last year. Recommended.
