SPLINTER FACTION - Ultraism Remixes, Digital Soul

Digital Soul get some heavy hitters in for the Ultraism remixes, Dan Curtin, Fabrice Lig and Stinkworx all contribute to the 12" in fine style. Fabrice Lig opens the a-side with an uplifting analogue soundtrack complete with squiggly acid lines and a superbly jazzed-up array of synths, all the way to the little breakdowns that he does so well. Dan Curtin drops a remix that takes me back to his Metaporhic releases, analogue synths, loose drums and serious percussion go toward making a rough sounding techno cut, with the vintage bassline and punchy kick drums firming up the ace rhythm. Last up, Stinkworx delve deep into their machines to pull out an analogue groover : layered synths, strings and simple drums that provide the sound Stinkworx is renowned for, top vintage stuff and a fine set of remixes.
