Cim’s long-awaited collection of EP’s finally makes its appearance on the Ann Aimee label, bringing together 17 tracks taken from the “Service Pack” 12” on Delsin, the “Warm Data” EP on deFocus and a track lifted from the “Two You See” compilation – all lovingly re-mastered by Klakson’s Dexter. It’s always surprised us that Cim hasn’t had a larger following – his classic blend of IDM arrangements (a la Aphex at his warmest) fused with an obvious love for the sounds of Chicago and Detroit have always struck us as being not only infectiously memorable but also undeniably in posession of the funk. The fuss surrounding the release of the immense “Service Pack” 12” ensured countless re-presses and a good following, but this excellent compilation should ensure a new array of Cim devotees lining up to see what the man comes up with next. Recommended.
