I'm almost certain this isn't the first time I've made such a comparison on these pages, but this Martini Brothers album features some positively chilling imagery on its sleeve, recalling the gross-out birth scene in Lars Von Trier's The Kingdom involving a baby with Udo Kier's head. Well, the bundle of child-sized limbs on the sleeve of this opus features the oversized bonces of Clemens Kahlcke and Michael Pagliosa, one of whom has a beard, making it extra perverse. Speaking of perverse, this mix focuses exclusively on the duo's own productions (with occasional remixes of their work by the likes of Prins Thomas and Robag Wruhmme) as was recently the case on the Argy mix from not too long ago. The album clocks up some nineteen selections, blended together into a maxed-out disc with a surprisingly varied feel. Guest vocalists and remixers like DJ Koze and Detroit Grand Pubahs freshen things up now and then, keeping the tone from sounding too much like you're in the midst of a relentless, seventy-minute Martini Bros. orgy.
