New on Sonic Dragon subsidiary Elektrik Dragon, this double disc release features the regular Grievous Angel album, Belief Is The Enemy, plus a mixed version titled Believe In Dub. Stylistically, the album is a pretty diverse exercise, shifting around the parameters of dubstep, electronica, techno and dancehall with assistance from Heatwave MC, Rubi Dan, who features on three tracks, including the ragga/techno mutation 'Culture Killer'. Elsewhere you'll find instrumentals like 'Soundman Tribute', which escalate in tension via huge ascending bass steps and contrapuntally slender snare sounds. 'Lickle Friction' is more closely connected to the conventions of dubstep, with slow, lumbering skank rhythms filling the gaps between the track's rubbery low-end plunges and vicious beats, and then you'll even hear a bit of an IDM influence on the abstract kit sounds of 'Move Down Low'.
